The word "believe" is a spiritually lazy word to the Lakota. In this episode of The Massachusetts School of Law's Educational Forum Assistant Professor of law Kurt Olson interviews host and producer of First Voices Indigenous Radio's Tiokasin Ghosthorse.

The Massachusetts School of Law also presents information on important current affairs to the general public in television and radio broadcasts, an intellectual journal, conferences, author appearances, blogs and books. For more information visit mslaw.edu.

  • whats wrong with the pearly gates and streets paved with gold? because we dont value gold or pearls... we value our love for eachother our culture the traditional way of life, the acceptance of change... thats what we value.. its not that we look down on the others people values thats just the difference.. we also understand that its not up to us to decide or to worry about our spirit after we are done using our bodies that are onyl lent to us..

  • Being Wicca, I can relate to Tiokasino Ghosthorse as a brother and understand what he is saying..........we have Mother Earth, we have everything.................................

  • @SeraphsSword Hopefully, but what if we're just maggot food? Let's be realistic. We all hope our spirit lives on, or some of us may hope our spirit manifests into something else...but who really knows? Just being honest with ones self results in nobility and humble existence. Moreover, in my experience, its more about where loved ones are...those who have passed. Bottom line, when were honest with ourselves, we can all see clearly that religious beliefs are personal regardless of faith.

  • too new agey for me, there is no doubt humans are spiritual beings, where the spirit goes after we die is up to the person to decide.
