I loved how Black Ranger used the Dragon Shield. As a child I got so excited. It was kinda like a foreshadowing of the Gold Ranger. Could this be what inspired Toei to make the King (Gold) Ranger?

@jdt3000 That's one of the reasons why I like the KingRanger/GoldRanger from OhRanger/Power Rangers Zeo. Gold and black looks great together. Megaranger had gold armour worn by the entire team, which looked similar too but I haven't seen much of it.

@guy2008rules I've watched the show, and the background music from the originnal Japanese version sounds like it was composed in the 70s as well.

Funny thing is , I find green ranger always look odd/naked without his shield .... although most power rangers look the same beside the colours/helmet variation .... sorta like how the ninja turtles look more naked without their bananas ....

"An Oyster Stew" is one of my favorite MMPR episodes and I liked how Black Ranger got to wear the Dragon Shield. I wish the other Rangers got to in other episodes lik he did. It'd be nice to see what the Pink, Blue and Yellow Rangers also looked like with the Dragon Shield and arm bands on.

I remember seeing a picture somewhere of this beach scene with Zack sporting the shield, but it was obviously taken stateside and not by Toei during the filming of this. Has anyone else seen it?

What exsacly is zyu2 ? Is it a secound verson of zyuranger in japan or is it specialy made u.s. foootage?

When Saban ran out of utilizable Zyuranger footge for MMPR, they contacted Toei and asked for 25 extra battle scenes/storylines. The Zyu2 footage was used ONLY for MMPR and did not air as a sequel to Zyuranger in Japan
