First I'll say that this music buries most contemporary music. But, what the hell happened to this band? Their first album was fantastic....great songwriting, arrangements, crisp playing. They sounded like a mini Steely Dan... the singer with his Fagen inflections, Jeff Baxter's production. The second album was way different. It has its moments (like this tune), but some of it borders on a Night Ranger-y, big hollow rock sound.
@tigerwoman I thought that too, but Eye of the Tiger did (though not electronic) too! I like acoustic, but I wish more of my fellow Gen Xers, who grew up loving it, would bring back the fun '80s New Wave keyboard sounds, singing and lyrics.
Love this song and this album..I had bought it when it first came out and wore it out from playing it so much...havent heard these songs in years...love it!!!
Anyone who lived in LA in Fall 1979 to Spring 1980 and listened to KCRW in the morning woke up to this song. One of my very best memories of young adulthood, living in Beverly Glen and being free...

This is the first time I have heard this treatment of this song! I am much more familiar with Amy Holland's version. Pretty cool treatment!
