I heard the same thing, but I did some research and found that they solved an early problem with the GPS, I obtained one and mine really works great….I love it. I've had it out in the desert and in the city, no problems. Meade has really stepped up the problem solving in the last few years.

I've heard that the first batch had some issues, but I still want to purchase the 8" version. Anyone know if these have been taken care of?
