My parrotlet is so small and there are so many chicken hawks in the area that I'm not willing to risk it. My apartment is bird proofed so he can fly inside.

how did you train the parrot to do that? it must feel so nice to trust that it would come back

Patty are loud, there's not much you can do about it. You will get used to it (the neighbors will not). Speak quietly, never shout at him. Try to make him busy or let him sit on the shoulder.
Best of luck!

у вас красивые умные птицы, а как поживает ваша ворона?

Мой ворон исчез из моего сада, и я не знаю, что случилось (I don't speak Russian and I used Google translate - I hope it make sense.)

I'm sure she learned a lot from that scary experience. Perhaps you should give her a free flyer buddy. It is safer to fly 2.
Good luck for you and your lovely birds!

You're right, but I don't trust my African grey and I can't get another parrot because of my neighbors. I most certainly will get her a flyer buddy as soon as I move to the country side.
