Meet the puppies Torch and Spirit. They are best friends.

"Red Raging Torch" is a 6 month old KR Rockin' McNab. He is Flash's nephew. No real training has been put into Torch at all. I haven't played with him much and this session I did for this video is the longest I have ever played with him (which was like 4 minutes.) I haven't pushed him to do anything whatsoever. He is just so quick to pick things up so I constantly have to think of new things to do (that don't involve jumping and landing) so he doesn't get bored and start playing games. He is a natural born jumper (like his uncle Flash) and as I experienced with Flash, it doesn't matter how low I throw it, he will still figure out a way to get air time. Therefore, I hardly ever play with Torch. He is completely crazy for the disc. Have fun being jealous of my step dad's puppy prodigy.

"Sacred Spirit" is my new 5 month old "foster failure" that I got from a shelter in LA. He is a Lab mixed with maybe a Chihuahua or a Terrier. He is basically like a miniature Lab. He had a fractured elbow that has been healing up for a little while now. We are working on building up his muscle in his shoulder and leg so he needs short amounts of exercise. I only do very close things with the disc because I do not want to hurt him. I'm not sure that he will ever really play disc but he likes to chase and chew it so I let him play with it a little, otherwise I will have 1000 rocks all over the house. I normally never encourage my dogs(other than Sketch) to tug because it creates a bad habit that I absolutely HATE, but in this case Spirit cannot do much else and I want to make it exciting for him so I do a little tugging. He mostly is learning tricks and basic obedience while he is resting. He seems to really like the water so I will have to get a little pool out for him. I think he'd like dock diving a lot. :)

  • Wonderful!

  • if that pup is only 6months, you might wanna ease up on how much you are playing with that dog. thats a lot of jumping for a young dog.
