Time for a couple of legendary top tens, starting off with Terry Gordy. Many of you old school fans will likely recognize Gordy, as he was part of the world famous Fabulous Freebirds tag team, who revolutionized tag team wrestling with their invention, the Freebird Rule. Gordy also found incredible success over in Japan, where he competed in All Japan Pro Wrestling. There, he held the AJPW Unified World Tag Team Titles seven times, and also won the 1990 and 1991 World's Strongest Tag Team tournament. His greatest accomplishment was becoming the first Gaijin(and American) to hold the prestigious Triple Crown Title. Gordy held the title twice, defeating Jumbo Tsuruta and Stan Hansen. Unfortunately, illness got the better of Gordy, and his second reign wouldn't last but a few days. Back in the states, Gordy continued to team with Dr. Death Steve Williams in WCW, eventually leaving over a disagreement. Gordy also competed in the IWA King of the Deathmatch tournament against Cactus Jack. Back in the states, he competed for the ECW World Heavyweight Title against Raven, and reunited with Williams in a match against the Eliminators. After a brief run in the WWF as the Executioner, Gordy disappeared from wrestling, and in 2001, he died of a blood clot. Gordy is still remembered as one of the better big men of his time. His Powerbomb was among the best, as was his DDT.

  • you're forgetting his piledriver back in the late 70's and early 80's.

  • Unfortunately, usable footage of Gordy isn't in as high of number as I'd like, and sometimes, things aren't found in time.

  • @TheSuicidalDragon

what was his actual finisher? the powerbomb right?

  • He also used the DDT, as well as the Oriental Spike.

  • I would love for you to do a top 10 moves of Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, & Dick Murdoch.. if at all possible.

  • Out of those three, Murdoch is the only possibility, and his won't be easy.

  • What about the STF? And the running clothesline into the corner?

  • PILEDRIVER WAS #`1

  • my mom knew terry gordy before he died and he used to live up the hill from where I live now

  • Old school power moves love it.

  • @JourneyToMars Yeah: Bam Bam Slam = winner.

  • Shame his great swinging neckbreaker isn't here.

  • @Piledriver86 Stan Hanson - 6'3" 330 lbs. Terry Gordy 6'5" 298 lbs. just sayin, if you count Gordy, you have to include Hansen as a big man.

  • Uh...you forgot one...the piledriver. Oops, wait! Another one for tag matches...the Bam Bam Slam!

  • @wakigatame2010 Okay, I agree with Bam Bam, The Road Warriors and Bruiser Brody? But Giant Baba? Mike Awsome? Scott Norton? REALLY?! And Stan Hansen wasnt exactly a big guy to that extent.

  • @Piledriver86 Seriously? Just those four? You're forgetting (or haven't heard of) a ton of guys like Steve Williams, Stan Hansen, Bruiser Brody, David Von Erich (by virtue of his height), Mike Awesome, Akira Taue, Giant Baba, Andre the Giant in his prime, Bam Bam Bigelow, Don Leo Jonathan, Scott Norton, The Road Warriors, and a metric fuckton of others.
