  • @CGDaly1991 Huh, so the English troops never killed or raped anyone? They did they're share of murdering and raping. One of the first brigades to enter Inverness and rape, pillage and kill were from nottingham. One of them had wrote in his journal that the British troops looked more like savage butchers, than like good christian men. On the road from Culloden to Inverness they killed everyone, men, women and children, most of them innocent people who had nothing to do with the battle.

  • @XxtandcmancxX With all due respect, even the way you describe it is an oversimplification. The sides at Culloden were not Highland v Lowland or Protestant v Catholic, I even doubt that most who fought at Culloden actually gave a monkeys about the Stuarts or the Hannovers.

People found themselves on whichever side due to whose land they were living on, local grudges, or whose cat pissed on their fence. There were highlanders and lowlanders on both sides and also protestants and catholics.

  • I love this, it's very well done! Is there any way to see the whole battlefield experience online?

  • @XxtandcmancxX Wrong, it was more about Scottish Protestants vs the Catholics, the idea of Lowlanders vs Highlanders is just a unionist propagators written attempt at dividing Scotland.

And no English soldier who fought for either the Protestant or Catholic side wore Tartan.

  • @uafchris WTF has any of that got to do with my comment? When did I say the Stuarts were not pro catholic or pro french? All I said was innocent people were killed, to deny that is just fucking stupid. I look at it without bias, I'm not trying to paint the jacobites or the Stuarts as poor innocent victims, wrong was done on both sides. At no point do I say English people did all the slaughtering. And I'm not really a nationalist. I like how you assume things, isn't that what the edl do?

  • @ClanScottishMetal No, most of the people they killed were fleeing Jacobite troops, the rest you're just exaggerating in order to be anti English. The battle of Culloden was basically English/Scottish troops fighting to prevent to the absolutist catholic pro-french Stuarts from reclaiming the throne of Great Britain (not just Scotland). It wasn't some sort of act of evil English imperialism as all you Scottish nationalist seem desperate to rewrite it as.

  • @46TheTruth Um ok? so not one single english troop fighting for the British army that day killed a person in cold blood? I'm not trying to just blame English troops for the slaughter that happened, but to say they had no part is just stupid. Every single history book or article I have read or documentary I have seen seems to agree.

  • @ClanScottishMetal No, they didn't...

  • @john3000931 Totally, I don't disagree with that. There was many reasons it happened, but the main one was a dispute over the throne between the Stewarts and the Hannovarians. But there was the whole issue of religion (you know, the old catholic/protestant crap) And bad blood between clans, like the Stewarts and the Campbells. All I was saying is that there was English troops at the battle aswell, and they took part in the pacifications after the battle, just as much as the Scottish troops..

  • @ClanScottishMetal Ur foegetting this wasnt Engand Vs Scotland. It was Government against rebellion. Two men fighting for a thrown, everyone else were pawns.
