  • Shani Wallis is the best Nancy by far (=

  • Ever since seeing Jessie Wallace as Marie Lloyd in a bbc drama I have thought she would be perfect as Nancy. Though she may be getting on a bit now. Nancy is only meant to be about 17 in the novel.

  • She looks a bit like Steve McDonalds wife from Corrie :)

  • One of my favorite songs

  • @MarieLeah you still have to admit its a classic film? i wouldn't say she was a bimbo, she just seems to have more class in the film than the stage version. Also, in the stage productions he cockney accent is far to exaggerated, and in the film its just right in my opinion.

I prefer the film though, because it never changes and each season the shows obviouslt does, and also its been there since i was a child.

Just my opinion but you know :P

  • @DyingWithoutYourLove Very, very true. After all he is a theiving, woman beating, prostitute hiring murder who at that point in the play should be worrying about being hanged not dancing about.

  • Why is everyone moaning, I don't think people understand that this wasn't a production of Oliver!, it was a TV show celebrating the movie/stage show with soap stars playing the leads. It wasn't meant to be massive and professional, it was a laugh. Get over yourselfs, just because you've seen a few shows does not mean that you know everything about theatre and the way things SHOULD be done!

  • the only thing that annoyed about this, and many performances is that in the film and musical it's pernounced Um-pah-pah. Not this performance is anywhere near close to them.

  • h8 suranne jones - stick with ruthie!

  • One of my favorite songs from Oliver! besides Food, Glorious Food, Got to Picket Or Two, Consider Yourself, Where Is Love....
