Magic Window

A song from my first novel, "The Goddess, the Trilobite, and the Rest". The song doesn't explain the novel, and the novel doesn't explain the song, but it's in there. Here are the lyrics:

I sit before my magic window,
Waiting for the sun to rise,
Window of imagination,
Dawn appears before my eyes.

'Show to me the Dance of Spring,
Birds and flowers, creatures all,
Come to me O everything,'
Window answers to my call.

'Let me see the Summertime,
Gulls above the gleaming tide,
Lush green leaves that fill the forest,
Clouds that on the warm wind glide.'

'Now the autumn winding downward,
Day's decline and Dark's ascent,
Leaves that dry, and fade and fall,
Following where flowers went.'

'In the end, the winds of Winter,
Snow and frost upon the pane,
Covering the hills and valleys,
Till the springtime comes again.'

'Show to me my flights of fancy,
All the things I dare conceive,
All my dreams and all my visions,
All the things that I believe.'

Window watches as I wonder,
Showing all the things I see,
Looking out my magic window,
Window looking into me.
