I'm looking forward to seeing the next parts. I also pencil, ink and color cartoon work on the computer and am very interested in how other cartoonists do this.

Um, youtube ate my comment. Anyway, this is a cool video. I see you too do that "round and around" movement before the first line! Superstition? Second thoughts? Who knows? Hehe.
Hopefully in the inking stage it will be a bit clearer, because right now it looks like the character has six fingers.
What software do you use?

Hi Maritza,
Lol- that round and round movement artist do should be called something. In my comic strip we do a feature we call "Pitos" (words that should be in the dictionary but aren't) it's kinda like spanglish words. Anyway, that motion should have a name, maybe "airsketch".
I use Photoshop to sketch, ink and color. Sometimes I ink in Illustrator.
Thanks for dropping by.

Hey Carlos, this is wonderful! I was reading my daily bit of Journalista (the blog of The Comics Journal) and saw this link!
Great bit of tutorial. I'm gonna have to steal this idea! Ha! I'll look for the additional entries here.

Hi loscomex,
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for posting. It's not a tutorial as much as just a quickie experiment. I'm working on a more step-by-step tutorial into my approach in creating the strip.

Interesting, but it looks like we're seeing you trace a pencil sketch over another (faded back) pencil sketch.

Hi Scott, Welcome, and thanks for posting. Yes, that's correct, there's a lighter sketch underneath that I used to loosly block out the character. Makes for a cleaner final sketch. Stay tuned, I'll be posting the ink and color this week.
