This is a short teaser video for a documentary series about FUTURE ENERGY, a company that intends to produce electricity in Sri Lanka without fossil fuel. Instead of burning oil and coal they want to fuel power plants with local renewable resources like bio mass and waste.

Von Planta Productions Ltd. will follow the progress of FUTURE ENERGY over 2 years - looking at all the ups and downs, the problems, the successes, the political implications, the social impact etc. - and hopefully this story will become a showcase for sustainable energy production in the developing world.

  • y u investors want to make this country energy self sufficient? annee, we have billions of barrels of oil in mannar sea. its good enough for us for another 100 years. come n talk about this after 100 years. for now, ask ur white masters to find some other poor country

  • @kamersoul

    ha? lol

u serious? if adopt this method, more Africans will die of poverty.

the cost of electricity by these methods is so high n thats y western nations dont want to adopt this method n they use nuclear, coal n gas.

THINK GUYS THINK, poor country needs cheap power. u dont wanna pay RS50,000 for ur electricity bill every month , do u?

  • all these expatriate women trying to be faithful to their white masters.

how much does it cost to produce 1MW of power from coal VS these methods? n y r these expatriates advising us on how we should spend our taxes? they dont pay tax for this country for god sake

  • this is bull shit, y do we have to go for these expensive process while world's largest economies dont give a damn about environment? the power produced is 10MW? then for remaining power? let the largest economies bother first about green energy first, then we will follow

  • this is something that could hold a key to poverty aleviation including care for the environment. In places like Africa.

  • nice and handy...........
