The Anti-palm oil campaigns are actually propaganda. It is actually trade war. Europe wants to sell more rapeseed oil, canola oil, sunflower oil. So does Australia and America. In these countries are the most aggrresive activism against palm oil. The European Commission has been funding millions to WWF each year to go "anti-palm oil". Recently, Italian group Libertiamo released a free researched report that exposes this propaganda and points to the EC and WWF as partners in bed culprits.

Even if this little conspiracy theory of yours was true, the point is, palm-oil, rapeseed oil, canola oil, and sunflower oil all come from plants that are being grown in place of natural habitat. Rainforest is being cut down for canola and palm oil, marshlands and prairies are being destroyed for sunflower oil and rapeseed oil..

My point being, even IF you were correct, the environment would still be in peril..

If deforestation is endangering the orangutans, why don't the Europeans condemn deforestation in general? Deforestations are not only caused by palm oil alone, but also by construction,development, industrialisation, agriculture, etc. Why aren't they anti-construction, anti-development, anti-farming, anti-industrialisation? No, they must target palm oil alone because they can profit from canola oil industry and diesel industry.

The anti palm oil campaigns are propaganda by European Commission, it is a fact with proof! 4 MILLION South East Asians in Malaysia and Indonesia depend on palm oil industry for employment and living, not to mention the many more in African countries that are now trying to expand their palm oil industry - only to have you Europeans try to ban and destroy their industry, using orangutans as an excuse? More than 4 million human lives!

It is a thoroughly researched and investigated report with proof that the European Commission is behind these anti-palm oil campaigns. They have spread exaggerated lies to stupid activists who believe those lies.

Wrong, there are many palm oil plantations that are taking place of old farmlands and non-rainforest areas. These green groups claim that 6 to 12 orangutans killed per day by palm oil as if it is a fact. No, it is all lies. Do you think a green activist is counting how many orangutans killed or left per day? What the green groups such as WWF want is MONEY and FUNDING. THey love money, and they will spread LIES in order to get MONEY.

There is no reason to fight palm oil. You can fight japanese whaling because it is directly killing whales. But why attack palm oil when there are so many reasons to the orangutan issue? First of all, why don't you support "Compassion for OrangUtans"? Everytime I hear Orangutan the first words that come out of westerner's mouth is "Palm Oil".
