walter- here in israel the last annual report of gov' surplus from taxation was 2 billion NIS (israeli currency)- the same game is beeing played here....so frustrating

@patsylowe Patsy: Your statement is incorrect. Not "take" from the pension funds but use the same proven structure of the pension fund model to fund government operations.

Taxation is just a revenue source.. Pensions generate a revenue source used for a specific purpose. When a TRF fund is set up it is set up "just like" a pension fund but with the specific purpose of generating the revenue to meet government operation needs whereby "all" taxation can then be eliminated.. Get it?

You assumed wrong.

Pension funds were funded half by the employee and half by the taxpayer. 1.5% of the employee's salary from each. (3%)

TRFs may get a 8% to 12% each year. After audit and surpluses aplied from all arenas in that local venue the balance from the start may be 40% to 55% there for what is needed.

With the contributions as noted in 3 to 5 years the return objective allows taxation to be phased out incrementally (starting with axing property tax completely)

Walter can you please explain how TRF funds would be funded? I am assuming the money will come from the surpluses within the pension funds. Can you please confirm if this is the case thank you.
