I love jesus, I don't know how anyone can say this man never existed. So many people believe in him, atheists and scholars. I think he was a very wise man. A special man. And I love Jesus!.lol.
I dont really see Christianity as different to pagan religions. They are all religions, they all have a lot in common. I see no evidence for Jesus having existed, but perhaps there was a certain Jew who claimed to be the Messiah. I view the Gospels to be completely fictional however. I am more inclined to believe in a Gnostic Jesus.
@Mirkwood90 I have to agree. I think both sides have to accept some responsibility for things as they are. I mean, there are many MANY Pagans that think Christianity is wrong and all Christians are evil. I don't see how this is any different from what most Pagans complain about Christians doing to us..
the only thing i dislike about SOME christians is that they will hate me or say i am going to hell because i am starting to practice wicca when all i am doing is searching for the same joy and comfort they get from being a christian. thats all and it really makes me sad sometimes. but like you said, its not all christians, just some.
i say that because he was a very nature-oriented person, in my opinion. others may not agree with that since there isn't explicit words in the Bible saying this, but that's the vibe i've always gotten from Jesus. he did his sermons outside, he reffered to his followers as his "flock", he traveled by foot and slept outside many times, etc.
i believe Jesus was a highly enlightened man [like Buddha] centuries ahead of his times. many of his practices and teachings have a very New Age hippie-vibe. it also, like you said, is very much like Buddhism. i also believe that the three Mary's of the Bible [Mary of Bethany, Mary mother of Jesus, and Mary Magdalene] are representations of the Triple Goddess [in my mind]. and Jesus of course is representative of the Horned God [cont...]
keep it up and be good
