Hummingbird Feeder Frenzy in Bigfork Montana in The Flathead Valley

This starts off with a few birds, but in seconds more arrive and make a huge sound of fluttering wings and hummingbird chirps. turn up the speakers on your computer and enjoy.
We are trying our best to keep these Hummingbirds fed, but there are so many that we are going through pounds of sugar a week. We have three feeders up and all of them are like this.
I shot this with my Canon 7D with a Tamron SP-17-50mm lens.

@iluvviolin356 We have three feeders and my wife and I took photos at two feeders at the same time and we counted 31 birds, however there are many more hovering around and at the other feeder.

@XenonMazi thanks for the comment, I'm going to put two microphones up on either side of the feeder and record a 30 min feeder frenzy for ya. I will make a MP3 for ya. I stand in front of the feeder with a hat on and they sit on my had and buzz around my head, it's awesome!

To answer your question about how many birds there are... We have a friend down the road from us that had the state come in and band the hummingbirds so that they could find out how many are feeding at their feeders, they had over 500 different birds visit their feeder in two weeks. We have three feeders that we fill every day.

Exactly HOW many hummers are we looking at here? I counted twelve, and I gave up after that. We feed hummers (ruby-throated) at my place, but this year we only have four or six birds (three feeders in different areas, each viewable from a window or two).
