It wasn't. The pattern changed and so did the suit material, the eyes were angled differently and darkened, and the spider on the front and back changed in design and also became more of a light grey color.

@PunkPimster I was talking about the one in your youtube film, which isn't any version I've seen; the comic is is solid black with a big white spider on both sides.

Yeah, the movie version is soo much better; all black with silver web, I love how it reflects on the red suit.
