Thats where I am from, grew up fishing that creek and still live there to beautiful to leave.

Thats the great thing about free will, take a long hike in virgin woods if you wish. The mountain, trees, rocks, falls or creek are not man made only the accommodation's to get visitors to and from. 20 years ago 75% of the man made stuff was not there. Regardless its still a great place with or without these additions. I don' need them, but I think the idea is to enable a wider age group of visitors to see things more safely.
