As of 1:24 pm on Friday, Jan., 29, 2010 here in Edmond, Oklahoma we now have about 1 inch of ice and sleet on the ground, at least 1/2 inch of ice on the tree limbs, and about 2 inches of snow on top of the ice/sleet. It is 24 degrees with a wind driving the snow. The forecast is that we will have snow for the next five hours of snow, and it could be at a rate of 2 inches per hour. Very heavy snow. There are 179,000 houses without power across the state of Oklahoma. Lots of electric lines and poles down, as well as broken tree limbs and downed trees.
