Well here is a good demonstration of how I use my DrainBlaster 2000 to clear plugged condensate drains.

It's construction is built from 3" PVC pipe. Ball valve on the one end and a coupler with bushing reducer on the other adapted to 3/4" pipe thread. Then I thread in a 3/4" ball valve and then a short flexable section made from poly tubing then back to 3/4" PVC fitting to plug into pvc drain vents or clean outs. On the side of the 3" pvc is a standard auto style schrader valve.

First it is filled with about 1/3 to 1/2 gallon of tap water poured down the open ball valve. Then close the ball valve and charge with air or nitrogen (or CO2) to pressurize the water anywhere in between 80 to 100 PSI.

Then it can be carried into an attic, ect and plugged into a vent or clean out tee if one has been added.
Opening it quickly will abruptly shoot presurized water into the drain and blow loose most stubborn clogs.

Connecting it to a "clean out tee" before the p-trap is the best way, because it directly shoots the pressure into the trap and blows all of the dirt down the drain.
Connecting to the vent after the tee usually blows the p-trap clear, but blasts the debri back into the drain pan where it slowly re-enters the pvc trap and drain again.

This is my best video of it so far because I had two camera filming at one. The normal work camera which is my Kodak C340 that Frank used outside in this case, and my good Kodak Z712 that I filmed the attic action with as well as the out takes at the end. :)

  • @hd1450

Dave from DavidsFarm is a cool dude!

  • Oh lovely AZ attics... Tucson isnt as bad as Phoenix im guessing, but an attics and attic...

  • I don't miss the attics. Haven't been in any attics except for my own for over a year now. :-)

  • That was one nasty plug. I'd hate to know what THAT smelled like.

I cleared a monster obstruction last week. The P-trap was filled with... sand. Apparently, the supply plenum had been tapped with start collars and left open to the elements, while the home was being built. Typical winds had driven a lot of Coachella Valley sand into the primary drain pan. It flowed out to the trap and set up camp. I cleaned the trap.

Still took 3 gallons of agua before the outside drain ran clear.

  • Nice. We don't get too much sand out here. Just dust and slime.
