That was a great video! I like your cooling meathod too but I'm stumped as to what you used to roast the beans. Is that some type of roaster?

Thank you Jpud1. How do you disconnect the Stir Crazy Heat. I was able to find thee Stir Crazy Popcorn Poppers. One from Good Will, but it didn't have a power cord. I found two more fully tested at another threft shop. Since I know I'll have to modify one I thought I would keep the other two incase the first one doesn't work when I mess with it.

I have a couple in back up status also. Cut the RED wire ... just kidding. Im not sure what wires I disconnected to remove the heat, its been a while. try googling "homeroast.pbworks" its good information on the stir crazy coffee roasting.

Don't know how old this is, but it's awesome. I see you used four pieces of equipment. 1, Fan, 2, Trash Can & crate, 3, AeroMatic Convection Oven top, and 4, Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper base. This was due to the arm right? How long did you set the convection oven and what temps? Was it about 500 degrees? Again, you did an awesome job. Can wait to put something together myself. I would really like to start a business and sell or give away for promotions of my screen printing company...

I use the stir crazy only for agitation of the coffee beans ... makes for a more even roast. I disconnected the the stir crazy heat and replaced the center spindle with a metal bolt (the convection oven was melting the original S/C spindle) . Time and temps vary depending on coffee type, outside weather conditions and 1st batch vs 2nd batch, etc. On average I roast a pound of coffee to a full city roast in about 20min. Temp ranges from 450 to 500.

Was it easy to replace center spindle with a metal bolt? And which bolt will fit in it?

Google the following "homeroast.pbworks".
It gave me the basics of the SC/TO roasting option. The convection oven is nice step up from my air popper .
