UK Rockin' Blues & Boogie act The Nightporters playing "Hip Shake" at The Handzame Blues Festival, Belgium 1999. The classic line-up was Ian Roberts (vocals/guitar/harmonica), Martin Vowles (guitar), Chris Robbins-Davey (double bass) and Kevin Crowe (drums). This video was shot at the height of their popularity on the European Blues scene. The band broke-up a few years later but the members went on to form other bands such as The Wildcards and Buffalo Squeeze.
Unfortunately the band has now split. The lead singer ian Roberts has formed a new band called `The Esplanades" down here in Devon. You should be able to google the new bands name. He is a very talented musician and I first saw him as part of the band The Crowmen with a couple of my friends in the same band. The same drummer from the crowmen is now with Ian in the Esplanades. Long live this band!!!!
