  • Yea i have a question. How come this microsoft webcam in some video some background noise?? its like a screeching sound, i mean, is that fixable?? or does the this camara come wit that sreeching sound?

  • @JulioAngel9 That could of been from my office compute. I never experience screeching...:)

  • Hi, I want to use an external mic plugged into my PC (Vista) and use the LifeCam for the video but all the chats on the web say that it can't be done and that the LifeCam software will disable both video and audio when you try to use an external mike and disable the LifeCam's audio. What is the trick to making it work. I want to record interviews so I might be 5 feet away from the WebCam's internal mic . Thanks for any suggestions.

  • @Halunlimited You can use any external mic you want. Just make sure that the recording mic is set in your windows sound settings, then fire up your recording program. You should be good to go.

  • @CaptGolightly Cheers for the reply, since i posted that comment i actually ironically have bought a Rode NT2A. Its a sweet mic alright!

  • @themadpad Surprisingly good clarity but it lacks bass...not surprising as it is only a tiny mic, casual use I reckon, sharing tracks with friends etc..but then I am used to Rode Nta 2 Condenser Mic so I'm kinda spoiled..drop by my Channel and have a listen anytime..not saying you'll like my music but you'll get a good idea of the Rode sound....and the Nta1 is pretty cheap these days and soundwise as good as the 2...less settings you'll probably never use anyway in my experience. Andrew.

  • @SirChaos Windows XP by the way.

  • @mattnourse Check your soundcard drivers are up to date....and just in case they have somehow corrupted reinstall anyway...only speaking for myself but it took me many many hours to realise that I hadn't checked this obvious step first...hope it works for you too my friend.

  • @SirChaos Thanks for getting back so fast buddy...much appreciated, I have removed my comment as it wasn't accurate or fair after all...I was annoyed ;)...just discovered that my Soundblaster drivers were corrupted so after my restore I checked for new ones and guess what?....the LifeCam now lives quite happily with it and is ideal for my purpose after all....all is well that ends well.

  • @CaptGolightly What OS were you running?

  • I have the LifeCam HD 5000 - which gives Okay 720p video - except the Auto-Focus goes nuts, blurring the entire screen sometimes with subtle movement, sometimes not - and a lot of times for no reason at all.

QUESTION: Does the LifeCam Cenema have blurring issues at all? I noticed you remained in a constant distance from the cam, but if you move forward or back from the LifeCam Cenema do you get the blurring?
