n July 2003 Governor Romney joined forces with five other Republican Governors to tackle the problem of global climate change by supporting a "cap-and trade" program. He argued that "now is the time to take action towards climate protection." Will Mitt Romney stand by his words, or will he flip flop?

  • In a statement last month, he criticized Republicans for "embracing the radical environmental ideas of the liberal left." Romney said, "Republicans should never abandon pro-growth conservative principles in an effort to embrace the ideas of Al Gore." [Concord Monitor, 3/12/07]

  • Romney said he was "terrified" of global warming, which he described as "quite alarming." Romney also noted his concern for the effects global warming would have on coastal cities and those in poorer countries. [Telegram & Gazette, 11/15/02; ]

  • The answer to your question :

Willard Mitt Romney pulled out of RGGI the year he left office and attempted to seek higher office.

Willard does not keep his word.

  • Crazy eh? I take it you've watched the Inconvenient Truth and heard the Media talk about the "consensus". Yeah, me too - happy to say I can think for myself. So, I looked at both sides and the funding sources. Have you done any critical thinking on man-made Global Warming or do you just trust what politicians and dino media feed you? Go ahead SCREAM and YELL, I'm just asking you to think for yourself. Only you close the doors of your own mind when you allow others to think for you.

  • Question does an excellent job of revealing yet another possible fli-flop Romney will likely make to appeal to right-wing evangelicals. I can only hope that Romney will retain some positions he held as MA gov. I esp. like her use of his OWN words and the fact that it involves other Repubs. who are concerned about Global Climate Change. Well Done!
