He does but just for fun. Since he's low level with starting equips, using an s-mine or swift bolt does more damage than his limits.

Quick question though...are you allowed to use limit breaks? and If so...why didn't you?:S Just wondering.

What does the attack aurora fence do and why are the characters putting sadness on themselves, i thought that was bad.

Aurora Fence removes all positive and negative status effects.
Sadness isn't necessarily bad, it reduces the rate at which your limit gauge fills, but also reduces the damage you take. Many low level fights rely on sadness to make up for lower HP values.
