I spended my first 3 years in life on malé and another island in the south maldives. My parents were divers and worked there.

@therealfakeAlphabet It seems right now, actually, that Christians are the minority right now. I see a lot of very degrading and insulting things plastered all over the internet about Christians, and it's quite hurtful. Besides, I was raised in an all-Christian household, so it feels odd to be worshipping anything else. If Islam is the only religion allowed in the Maldives, children grow up with it and it feels natural, just as Christianity felt natural to me. So it's not as hard to conform.

And that's supposed to absolve them of such injustices? How would you like it if I removed your voting rights in your country just because you didn't conform to a certain religion?
Of course we cannot expect a uniform standard for every society in the world, but there are certain standards that are incontrovertibly better than others. And we can at least champion these causes, or bring them to peoples' attention. Sweeping such issues under the carpet is just...not right.

@therealfakeAlphabet At least Maldives doesn't knock over buildings...for christ's sake, don't be so ignorant. Not everyone can have the religious freedom that Americans do. I love America, but haven't you noticed we kind of SUCK right now?
And if you see women walking around in the Maldives and compare them to Saudi Arabia, you will notice that Maldives women aren't covered from head to toe.

1. Respect people who like it.
2. Give a LOGICAL reason why.
3. Keep your damn opinions to yourself. If you don't like the Maldives, WHY are you watching a video with their national anthem? Nobody is making you. Now look who's the "dickhead" "epic fail" and "hilarious shit".
I think you're merely a prepubescent brat who just discovered swear words and listens to everything Mommy and Daddy say about politics.
