How does this process work with non latex materials? I want to get into the special effects indutry as a career, but I'm deathly allergic to latex. I know hypoallergenic gloves and masks wil protect me when I apply them to other people, but to start out I want to apply them to myself. (Until I get a willing slav...uh I mean volunteer)

@GlennMorganFan I'm not sure how well this would work with a latex replacement. To use scar wax or putty with these molds you would need to figure out a really good release agent. You'd probably need to just experiment with some of the other products out there. Good luck!

@MegaAnimeJunkie I wouldn't use this method for a bigger piece like a forehead and scalp. You would be better off trying a full face casting with algenate, making a plaster mold from that casting, sculpting with putty on the casting and then creating a latex piece from that. The process is pretty extensive, but if your really picky, it would be the way to go. You can find instructions all over online with the algenate products.
