I can watch this for hours and hours and never be bored! I am a petanque player myself but I dream of ever getting that good (which is a utopia maybe =P).
One day I want to go to France and take part in a tournament, just for the atmosphere and fun of it.

You have a little ball in wood or plastic (called "bouchon" or "cochonnet") that the first player launches to 6~10 meters
The goal is to put the balls the nearest possible of the cochonnet
You have generally 2 choices when launching a ball :
- Approach as near as possible to the cochonnet (in french : pointer (to point))
- Shoot away an enemy ball (in french : tirer (to shoot))

wow!! i went to france one summer and played petanque! i really enjoyed it, i even entered a little tournament in a ville, im not that good though. I lost really fast but I really enjoyed it
