These remissions can last years. People can go from 2 hospital ER visits per year to ZERO and also ZERO attacks.
These people will always be more sensitive to environmental triggers than the average person. But they can have a life that is not tied to talking Steroids 24/7.
On steroids people will tend to have more viral infections and bacterial. Even though its local to the lungs some gets adsorbed systemically.
There are risks either way, more people should be aware of zithromax option
I think people need to be careful assuming asthma is purely inflammation from NON-Infectious sources.
If you were to take all the asthmatics taking inhaled steroids/B.dilators and did a bronchioscopy you would find about 20 percent actually have a underlying lung infection.
Low grade infections worsen asthma and steroids while helping inflammation tend to promote the growth of microbes.
If you were to put all the asthmatics on 6 weeks of Zithromycin (Antibiotic) what would happen?

What would happen is a significant portion of these people would go into total remission of their asthma.
Why?
Some would say the antibiotic killed off bacterial that was fueling the inflamation
Some would say the antibiotic has steroid-like anti inflammatory properties.
Both answers are correct. The said part is this type of treatment is never offered to asthmatics, in fact it may be denied by the treating Dr.
The types of remission I am talking about are total, meaning no need for..
