Well, Pookie gives in to demand!! For Conrad and pgh45rpms, here's that TL Sound. I'll bet I've had 10 people ask about this one. Don't know if this is the Florida or Washington Beachcombers, but I do know it's NOT The UK Beachcombers. A huge hit in Pittsburgh, where they completely ignored the A side 'Surfin' The Summer Away'. Not in the Burgh! This was released in 1964 on Diamond Records, though I might imagine it was on a smaller local label first. Terry Lee from WMCK flipped this one and just rode it for years. I hope the sound is OK, it's from the 45 I bought in like '65. This is late nite Pittsburgh radio. Oh, the dreamy Doo-Woppy Pop/Soul, or whatever it exactly was. Reminds me of summer nights on my front porch with one of my first 5 girlfriends listening to TL. Enjoy guys!!! Music for Young LoversLoversLoverssss.

  • This 45 sounds absolutely fine to me... first heard this on a late-night TL broadcast; a college buddy of mine had it on a TL album. As a Diamond label single, the disc is worth at least $25 to collectors. Lead singer is Frank Gari, who cowrote the song. He started as a teen idol singer ("Utopia", 1960) and made a career of creating award-winning jingle packages for radio/tv stations. Thanks for the post!!

  • hey, thanks for watching, and the info is great!!! love to find out anything i can about these obscure groups and records.

  • is this the band with Keith Moon before The Who? cause that's what i'm trying to find

  • sorry, this is not the UK Beachcombers, but thanks for watching.
