"The Sacred Depths of Nature" is Ursula's book. My take on the world is that, at present, it is both broken AND damaged. Yes, I think the Walter Benjamin image in this context is very valid. On the other hand, Crowley, to me, has ABSOLUTELY no place in this new equation of binding. The great thing about being in a place where so little works is that we are FREED to create these new cohesive equivalences from the shards of the broken past.

I mention Crowley not because I think his ideas are terribly useful, but that the ambition he seems to be shooting for is copacetic with the general urge to unify, and the often unacknowledged set of emotional responses which accompany this intellectual act.
