  • The average American family pays between 12-14 thousand per year for their health care. Most of it premiums, some of it deductables and out of pocket for the growing list of things insurers won't pay for. Some in extreme health states pay for what goes OVER their coverage limit. Enough of this! The Kucinich plan to have it 100% free, Health, Dental, Vision, Long Term Care, would cost less than what we pay now (no new taxes needed). Talk about a stimulus? 12-14 thousand a year in our pockets!

  • It's NOW or never...and I won't settle for never.

Our government had better deliver...or we had better be ready to take to the streets.

Enough of an industry that provides NOTHING. Blood sucking, parasites.

    Enough is enough already!!

  • You said it right, there will be jobs lost by the insurance companies, but there will be more jobs restored.

A-For-Da-Ble Health' will save our economy.

It is in the best interst of everybody,

if every job moves out of the country,

than (tell me) whose gonna pay the medical fee?

One reason why US economy is in such a mess is because in order for an employer to offer the health benefit he has to charge more for products, this causes customers to find more cost effective to buy oversea.

  • You have said it so well. I don't see how people can oppose single-payer HR-676. That is the only way we will have universally affordable healthcare. I guess I don't disagree with birdsarewild; I'm not for gov control of the healthcare; but gov control of the insuring. I am for HR-676.

  • Allowing government to control 100% of the healthcare for the public is a BAD idea. This is the same governmetn who thinks that $50 for a hammer is a good deal.

  • I just lost my coverage, every year my wife gets terminated from her teaching job with Headstart and they cut her healthinsurance, we had to take hers this year because I was unemployed last year for four months while I completed my masters degree in education, I had to student teach.

We got our COBRA Bill a few weeks ago...$978 PER MONTH, $11,000 per year. MY employer was willing to pick it up for a few months during the summer for the lower rate to cover my wife at $378 per month, I go w/o

  • I have very little optimism at this time due to the influence of health insurance companies, medical corporations and pharmaceuticals. If this doesn't go through I would feel our government failed us.

  • Wow, that was an excellent testimony. Now, what are we going to do with this priceless knowledge. Don't sit on it, act!!!

  • I am in the same boat, dx with cancer at age 34, now 38 and no health insurance co will touch me. I CANNOT afford out of pocket and don't qualify for any state or federal programs - not poor enough for Medicaid, 30 years shy of Medicare. I have fallen through a crack in the system and there is no way out. My current plan is if my cancer returns (50% chance) then I will put all costs on credit cards or get billed and then file for bankruptcy.

We need HR 676 - single payer is the only way.
