  • I just thought of this piece and found it here on YouTube. I played it in 1961 while attending the Amherst (Mass.) Summer Music Center at UMass. I have never forgot the overall impact of the piece even though we trumpets absolutely blew the triads - but we did have to go "up" on the third, not down!!!

  • Yep, I can vouch that it's a blast on euphonium

  • I played this in high school. Ringgold High School (Georgia) always plays pieces like this on and off the field. (in 2007 we marched "Finale" from New World Symphony by Dvorak and Firebird Suite by Stravinsky) This piece was a lot of work and a lot of fun. Our euphonium player had a blast. Hardest part of the entire piece was tuning the trumpets at 4:15

  • Nada Musical!!!

  • Is there a Euphonium Solo in this?

  • Not bad, but the lower brass at the beginning weren't together at all and horribly unbalanced because of the bari, and that there was WAY too much clarinet (especially 1st) at the maestoso part (6:38) and it just stuck out horribly.

  • I played this with my community band last December. Such a beautiful piece. The part around 9:47 - 10:14 gave me the chills when playing it live.

  • 6:45.

  • clarinets a little too loud in the beginning;;;

  • great low end in the opening statement!
