@shootinair And didnt the Catholic church help many nazi's to escape across the mountains from Germany into eventually Italy immediatly after the second world war as to avoid justice..Im no fan of the Catholic church,it has alot of redeeming to do...
wow...I dreamed that I was watching in the world and this huge movement of athiesm began to take hold as these masses of people were fleeing from relgion....then I seen the Lord and he said to me here I am (he was seperate from all the religion and he said ot me they are throwing me out with religion because they don't know who I am and that they can have me without it....the fact is Jesus Christ died to redeem man kind from sin and put him back into a relationship with God the Father...
@klutzygirl31 No, most of the hate and anger toward the Catholic church stems from pure fact. The ignorant ones are those who turn a blind eye or conveniently ignore all the corruption and wrongdoings within the church. Fact: many churches harbor illegal aliens. Fact: many priests sexually abuse children. Fact: clergy members have ignored or even condoned these acts. Fact: many Catholics are baby-breeding machines who are welfare-dependent. Fact: the Vatican still condemns birth control.
@bayonetsluts Yeah, the church condemns homosexuality but then allows their faggot priests to molest little boys. It's all revolved around that idiotic rule the church has about priests not being allowed to marry or date women. Well all that does is attract more homosexuals and pedophiles to the priesthood. The church purposely ignores all the inappropriate sex acts under their own roof. The entire church is a hot bed for lies, scandal, corruption, and abuse.
for centuries the RC Church promoted a meticulous language of antisemitism & then claimed that it didn't after the Holocaust. Now terms like "intrinsically disorded"are applied to gay people & gays are turned into a cold theological category...&..to make matters worse the pope whips up homophobic hysteria by declaring that "secular"(not sacramental)marriage will undermine and erode civilization.By saying this he enpowers a gutt-leval hatred & fear of gays among the ignorant & bigoted.
90% of priest abusers target teenage boys as their victims.. Relatively little attention has been paid to this phenomenon by Church authorities. Perhaps it is feared that it will call attention to the disproportionate number of gay priests.” D. Cozzens, The Changing Face of the Priesthood, pp. 123-124
Because in practice the Church is often hypocritical. It treats gay people with a harshness not handed out to adulterers, fornicators, paedophile priests, bishops complicit in paedophilia. It denounces none of these, but often denounces gay people. It has even denied burial to gay people who have worked for it for many years - this can't be on moral grounds, for otherwise the late Senator Kennedy would not have been given a Church funeral. So its position is incoherent. That's why.
@klutzygirl31: I agree. Everyone seems to know what the Church teaches but people won't ask the philosophical question, 'Why does the Church teach it?' The teachings of Jesus Christ were counter cultural so why are people shocked when His Church continues to teach in opposition to current moral standards.
