Lesson #29: What to Say After "Hello"
Welcome to BLT Eigo, I'm your host David Hylton.
I'd like to welcome my 1st-year students at Seisen Jogakuin College. They're excited about making new friends... but what's a good way to meet someone new?
That brings us to this week's topic: What to say after "hello."
The key to starting a conversation is to ask questions. Here are some useful examples:
I'm David. And you are.....?
I'm Kent.
Where are you from?
I'm from Tokyo.
What do you do?
I'm a student.
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
No, I'm an only child.
Do you have any hobbies or interests?
Yes, I like watching movies.
Do you like BLT Eigo?
Yes, I LOVE BLT Eigo!
Don't be afraid to ask questions. It's the only way to get to know someone... and it's a great way to improve your English.
Thanks for joining BLT Eigo. See you next time right here on BLTnetwork.com.
Bye!
This is retarded.
