  • i bet this was on the dyno. there is no shot of the road at all. its just the speedometer

  • @jayrackson This was on the highway.

  • There was one more gear but I slowed down before it shifted.

  • what was that noise when you got to 40 mph?

  • Im guessing it was the door vibrating...

  • @BigEarl50 I think it was just a resonance..

  • Don't you just love the feeling of kicking everyone's ass, I sure do. The Sleeper granny sedan from Hell. =D

  • The Sonata only comes with a 2.4 or 3.3. The Azera and Genesis are offered with the 3.8.

  • @BigEarl50 the phone touched the stering wheel so you hear the car vibrating

  • Just finished the engine mods on my 3.3L V6 on my '07 Sonata. (New Cams, heads, computer reprogram, MSD ignition) Had custom headers made to match the new exhaust. Saving up for better brakes, wheels, and suspension. After I'm done I will have to make a top speed vid to see what it can do.

  • My 2003 2.7 v6 with short RAM intake pump gas tune and 18" rims was pushing 145 and the spedo is off by 5 mph at 60 cuz the larger wheels so probably almost 155 or so

  • For discount cars, a sonata can be really ballsie i love to just floor it in my moms 2010 sonata 3.3 v6, that thing can haul ass i got it up to 118 and i got scared and slowed down

  • I got a top speed of 140 in mine with a full custom exhaust (high-flow cat, larger diameter exhaut tubing, high-flow resonator and mufflers. I also installed a Tornado air foil and K&N air cleaner. Opening up the breathing does wonders for any car. Researching engine mods now.

  • C&D did an article on this. Here's a couple excerpts:

"Two 'certified Hyundai technicians' told one paper that the car could not go over 137 mph. Then a Hyundai official in L.A. told another paper that it could go 147 mph."

"In the meantime, a C/D test driver took our long-term Sonata V-6 to the track and — surprise — got a top speed of 144 mph."

  • @addison82 This is awfully funny to read. So much hatred back and forth, and nobody knows how to actually write a complete sentence with proper spelling or grammar.

Did huked own fonicks knot wurk four yu kyds?

  • @jazzy1109 Have you seen one of these "?"? They're called question marks.
