Just additional resistance... Just adds to the speed training. Nothing like two big rubber bands trying to pull you to the floor. Then throw on weights and chain! Love Powerlifting!
Well.... as you go down the chains pile up on the floor and deload weight so the bar gets lighter. But on the way up the chains unpile off the floor and makes you drive up harder and faster because the bar gets heavier. Its a speed drill

okay, i get it now. deffinatly has it's purpose. what about bands? what are those for?
