Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of orchestrating the conflict in Georgia to benefit one of its presidential election candidates.

In an exclusive interview with CNN's Matthew Chance in the Black Sea city of Sochi on Thursday, Putin said the U.S. had encouraged Georgia to attack the autonomous region of South Ossetia.

  • I actually agree with Putin here. The powers that be in the U.S likely influenced the Georgian President into attacking Russia so Republican candidate John McCain would have much needed ammo to use to win the U.S election in 2008 and become U.S President.

  • USA trained and armed GEORGIAN (GRUZIA) army disorganized and in chaos in 5 days.

WHAT the fuck USA trained them to do.

  • Give us the facts?Where are the facts?Putin is bitch and lie.

  • Stop Putin and Medvedev..... NOW. and then there will be NO more war....

  • nothing new, americas fingerprint in tis and many other unrests shouldnt be a source of suprise.

  • Refund, what refund?! Those advisors and equipment were not paid for by Georgians. It were Georgians who were purchased as operators (and very looust ones) for that equipment. Those are Americans who should be demanding refund from Georgians.

Then again, Americans should have known better than to trust the sorry excuse for soldiers that Georgains are.
