It always amazes me that Christians are so easily offended.Christians are going to spend eternity in heaven,and the rest of of us are going to burn in hell.Why then,are Christians so concerned about people critisising their beliefs during this brief time on earth?Perhaps Christians don't really believe that any Human Being exists after death.

And what does your diatribe about "duties" have to do with the clip? And how, pray tell, are you meaning "duty"? Some tenuous and gossamer concept which melts away in light of societal pressure? Are you implying that Pullman knows nothing of duty? That what he does is not significant or beneficial or interesting or beautiful?

Just finished this book, an utterly fantastic read in my eyes. And it has been hard to try and find a book like this that has actually kept me wanting to read till the very end. Just brilliance

@Eldritchfan yes, i know. i was just kidding because i thought it was funny how it seemed like he really was eagerly waiting for the question. I can imagine how excited he got when the question was actually put out there because he wanted to execute and answer it so bad. And it's a great book by the way. Cheers.

@GuusR I've no doubt he anticipated someone would ask that kind of question and so had the answer rehearsed and ready. Not the same thing as paying a guy to ask it.
