I am new to SLI. I just bought a second card (different brand but same GPU) for my system and installed it for SLI. However the fan on the second card would spin up, but not detected in windows or nvidia driver even if I do a hardware search. Any ideas.

@NOXXism Basically because the second one was given to me for free.

@roboguy999 dear god what kind of illness did you have that lead you to sli two 9500gt lol one 9600gt or a 9800gt would beat that setup easily

Forgive me if this sounds stupid, but I would like to know if i need 2 PCIE slots for Crossfire, as I have one PCIE, but three PCI?

If I want to install a second 5850 card, do I need to more cables 6pin to get enough power or can I take the cable that says SLI ready and plug it into the new card? My power supply only has two of those cables and seeing that there are two connections on each card it got me confused XD

lol lazy you had to use power drill.

Hi, I have two Nvidia gt 9500 cards but only one bridge that came with the mobo. Your vid shows two bridges, is that correct or is it differant because I am sli and the vid id crossfire?

SLI should require only one bridge while CrossFire require two. The main reason is that CrossFire is actually a more flexible system as you can actually use two different cards. One SLI Bridge should work just fine for your set up though!

@Mindbitesdotcom
Only the older ATI cards require 2 crossfire bridges. The newer ones only require 1. Adding a 2nd bridge (if you have 2 bridge connectors on your 5000 series card) doesn't do anything (+ or - 2 fps when you use 2nd bridge. I say that would count as just standard error though)

@Oniongamer I did not know that, thanks for letting us know. I've always been more of an nVidia person.
