With a bike like that I guess it doesn't matter, but for the bikes I've owned I usually tuck my pants into my boots before lacing or tightening them up. During the winter this is one less place for cold air to go up, and during the summer it stops the annoying and pants- (trousers- ?) damaging flapping of the cuffs in the wind. If my speeds are under 60 MPH I don't tuck them during the summer, though, cause it looks better.

for me its
Bering jacket with built in elbow, shoulder and back protection.
Don't remember the name of the pants but they've also got built in pretoction.
A coupple of Harley-Davidson brand boots, and good warm gloves with carbonfibre protections for the knuckles and parts of the palm. (sometimes I might take a scarf aswell)

great set up but what you need to go with your heated vest are heated glove liners.
I just received mine from sk-i-n.com and they are absolutely awesome.
The hottest gloves I could find on the market

now all you need is a friend with an ice plow

Awesome rig, but I agree with the masses - I don't ride in icy conditions if at all avoidable. If anyone were ready to do so though clearly that person is you.
Be safe.
