@donnavinaz12 Hi, sorry for the late reply. I only just noticed. Yes I'm happy with my outcome. Although the surgeries weren't 100% successful, each one was a major improvement on the condition. I'm not sure if it's advisable on a 20 month old though. I had my first surgery when I was 23. I'm now 26. I think it might be an idea to wait until your son's muscles have fully developed to see the extent to which the correction is needed - I say this because this is what my parents did with me

@jesal21 hi there....my son was born with congenital ptosis. he is 20 months now and has had 3 surgeries so far. his left eyelid is not as high as the right. i'm debating about getting it corrected now or waiting. my dr. recommended the ptose up procedure. are you happy with your outcome? if you don't mine me asking, how old are you?

I've had this surgery twice now. I was born with congenital ptosis but both times the surgeons seemed to have "under-corrected" . The second time I had it was with silicone on a sleeve so that it could be adjusted. The second time was worse because my lower eyelid is now dropping as well as the top! Regardless, it's interesting seeing what they did. Hopefully 3rd time lucky! P.S this isn't disgusting, some of us spent many years not being able to see though one (or maybe both) of our eyes!!!

Remember the adage: Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to "comment" and prove it. This is a medical video for persons interested in learning about a procedure for children born without a working eyelid muscle who can't open one or both eyes! I have seen this work many times. It is not horrible, disgusting, or "a string". If you know a better way to treat this difficult problem, please post it. Otherwise, use some discretion...your comments don't make these kids feel better.
