I was in my sophomore year in high school and I remember I was pissed off because I was in the afternoon shift (2pm - 7pm) so I was unable to watch the game on TV (at 6pm). And while I was taking the bus home after school, someone told me Drazen had scored 47 points in regulation. I rushed home to see the overtime (x2 if I recall correctly) and I watched him make history. Gentile also scored 31 I think.

@bluzercic True, Sabonis arrived in the NBA at age 32, but he wasn't allowed to go earlier because of USSR's policy of not letting their best players go play abroad, @NBAfan096 I'm pretty sure Fernando Martin was drafted in 1985, one year before Sabonis, and if I'm not wrong also Dino Meneghin was chosen by the Hawks in the early 70s, so Sabonis was not the first European player to be drafted.
