  • I became a vegetarian three years ago at the age of 48 for health reasons. My blood pressure and cholesterol levels are now that of a 20 year old AND I save hundreds of dollars a month. The Vegetarian vs. "Meat Eaters" debate really should keep the "left"/"right" politics out of it. Common sense and human's innate knowledge of right and wrong do not require ANY political leaning... Go Veggie!!!

  • buckmontgomery, I hope you understand that being an omnivore means you have a choice - not that you HAVE to eat both meat and vegetables. Also, I think you're referencing a lot of misinformation about vegetarianism - most of it is propaganda from the beef industry. Vegetarian/vegan diets can be perfectly healthy, and the amount of land used to feed animals to obtain 1lb of meat is several times that of what it takes to produce 1lb of vegetarian food.

  • To; "Loricalady" What I save on meat each month allows me to give an extra $50 to $75 to Missions Feeding Programs in my Ministry!! I'm a Conservative politically but I still wish everyone would go vegetarian! God Bless

  • Help feed the hungry a little for free: messgae me.

  • Our eating vegetarian, though it's very helpful, doesn't at all necessarily decrease starvation in various countries. There are a lot of climate and political issues to consider, too. One way to help children not be hungry is to give to charity. Compassion International is my fave, has great charity rating.

  • I agree that birth control should also be a considered method of preventing more suffering in countries of poverty and famine, but there are people there NOW, who need food, and need to be addressed. I support Food For Life, as they are effectively helping starving communities by providing them vegetarian foods. Many gallons of water and pounds of grain are wasted to feed livestock, who feed few. By people giving the grain to people, many are fed.

  • Awesome! :)

  • Wow, I'd love to volunteer there! Go vegetarian!!

  • what a great job. they are doing a wonderful job. x keep up your great work.

  • the vegetarian diet is extremely healthy and does not lead to malnutrition. This is a myth. I have been vegetarian for 25 years and have brought my family with me into vegetarianism. Tragically, It is my meat eating friends who are dropping like flies into early death, sickness, cancer and obesity. And when I first became a vegetarian I was regularly ridiculed by the folks who are now deeply suffering from their meat diet. It is time for all of us to wake up from the myths of bad diet advice.
