  • Actually, it's so true how sad this video is... ;)

  • @IJjung yes this is EXACTLY what it is like (and i just realized i've worked with these guys). vfx artists need a union and the first thing on the agenda should be a strike. i've just finished 12+ months of this sort of work, only to get an email laying me off like 100 or so other artists. our company essentially can't do films that are cheap enough for the uber rich film studios. it's time for the artists and vfx studios to grow some balls. enough is enough.

  • at the moment I am his seat with every aspect, wife, kids, a fuck up employee causing more work. for last 30 days except xmas and new year working till 1:00 am, but thats what we do and we love it....

  • Very true!

  • man this is everything but fictional!! it's all nothing but the true fact of what happens everyday!

  • Its this bad already as a student... once I hopefully get a job in a studio next year will see how it compares :)

  • GAH :'( wheres my halo

  • so you whore yourself out for years, now you complain when you see where that road has taken you. you made your own bed by bragging cgi was the shortcut

  • So true.

    But you know what's worse?

"Artists" supporting management, pointing fingers at the peers getting laid off for not being "corporate", for supposedly not understanding how the business works and not accepting that fate if you want to climb the ladder. These guys, usually leads and opportunists, if they were passionate enough, willing to push the limits and thrive, they wouldn't be taking shit from the Industry.

1941 : Disney had its strike.

2011 : what the frakk are we waiting for ?

  • @IJjung by the way as the years go by my pay goes up but my contracts get shorter. i get paid reasonably well but i feel as though i should be filthy rich for sacrificing my life in the way i do. anyway enough work talk. i'm going to finally enjoy my unemployment for a little while...

  • is this how really the life of vfx artist is? I'm a student dreaming of becoming a vfx artist someday, it looks like a really frustrating job :( , do they get payed well though? :/
