New Works by HAYDEN MENZIES

Artguise Gallery is pleased to welcome the return of Toronto based painter Hayden Menzies. Hayden's new body of work is a natural continuation of the themes, palette and execution of his first showing at Artguise. The narrative in this new series encompasses imagery that is all at once bizarre, playful and titillating. Each composition transmits a surreal language swirling with pastel tonalities and inhabited by carnival-like curiosities. Though the figures existing within their canvas realms are fantastical, there is a multi layering of materials that succeed in constructing a tangible sense of place for them to exist in. Based on the success of Hayden's first solo show at Artguise we are anticipating great things from the artist in his second Artguise exhibit. Please join us opening night when the artist shall be in attendance.
