Politicians love their sex scandals. The latest in a long, and now intensely cliched, line of U.S. political sex scandals involves Oregon Rep. David Wu, who is resigning from the House of Representatives over sexual allegations. The 56-year-old Democrat, pictured here courtesy of the Daily Mail doing his best Tigger impression, has quit his post after an 18-year-old daughter of a campaign fundraiser accused him of "aggressive and unwanted sexual advances" in May of this year.
Amid an impending ethics investigation initiated by Nancy Pelosi, Wu's camp released a statement on Tuesday July 26: "I cannot care for my family the way I wish while serving in Congress and fighting these very serious allegations," Wu said. "The well-being of my children must come before anything else... With great sadness, I therefore intend to resign effective upon the resolution of the debt-ceiling crisis. This is the right decision for my family, the institution of the House, and my colleagues."
How touching. Here's a statement that should also be made: Dear American politicians: please spend more time trying to fix our dire economic crisis and less time being sex-starved perverts. Sincerely: your voters.

What's with the editorializing at the end there? There's a sex-starved pervert in all of us! Besides, it's not like Wu, who just about no one has heard of, I'm sure, was going to "fix the economic crisis," as you suggest.
That costume is pretty embarrassing though. Hitting on a hot 18 year-old? Sure, who can blame him? Dressing up like an A. A Milne character? HA HA! Stupid bastard.
