Hi can you send a sms in Portrait Mode?

No, that is one area I would like fixed so you can reply quickly with the touchscreen keyboard in portrait mode

I am disappointed that you have to click on the phone icon to activate phone mode. This could take several moves to get there if you are on a different home screen from the one with the application. When this was first shown I got the impression that if you rotated to portrait mode it automatically activated phone mode. It will probably not stop me getting what looks like a great phone though. I might just get around the problem by putting a phone short cut on each of my 4 home screens.

Sorry, I did not clarify this in my video. There is a setting in the Phone application where you can actually have it switch to phone automatically when you rotate into portrait mode. Thanks for pointing that out and I should have shown that capability.

you used skype when you were in rome? wasnt the data-roaming hefty??

In Spain. I used an inexpensive WiFi connection and an inexpensive prepaid SIM to connect that was MUCH cheaper than cellular calls to the US.

@dickiedocker VertSMS provides texting in portrait mode, it lacks some features though, do a google search for it, I can't post a link on YT.

does the calling screen appear in landscape mode if some body is calling u and than u just rotate it up in the portrait mode and it switches to portrait style as shown in the end of the n900 promo video... does it really happen??

@gutekwroc> Yes when you connected to Wi-Fi, you can use Skype or SIP connections to make calls. Also you can use video call through gtalk or compatible video chat. Hope this helps you.

Nokia claims that it's UMA phone. I wonder if it works in T-Mobile network.

Can You choose which connection will be used for Skype or internet browser? (aviable Wi-Fi or SIP). I've got bad service at home. It would be cool if it would switch to UMA mode there and back to T-mobile when away from my Wi-Fi.

thank you for the nice videos I love them because I just got my new Nokia N900

3 days ago and I'm in the process of discovering it. so far I couldn't figure out how to call my voicemail from the phone I tried doing it normally but it didn't go through or it doesn't even make the call.

also how do I go to my saved files or documents? where can I find them?
