Floodwaters west of Atlanta tore apart 2-year-old Preston Slade Crawford's mobile home early Monday. His grandmother said she was unable to help and could only watch her grandson's final moments as he was pulled away in a strong undercurrent. (Sept. 21)

  • @graycladlady Yeah I'm sure there are lots of good reasons a loving God would have a special plan for a small child to die horribly. Let's not ever doubt his existence though!! Freaking idiot.

  • @graycladlady LOL yeah God must be a real great guy - letting a kid drown and saving another kid. Are you really that stupid? "He has reasons for everything he does" - you sound like a 5 year old. Disgraceful.

  • So heartbreaking, so sorry for this family and this little boy. I can only imagine how painful it must be to try and cope with this.

And for you insensitive, self-serving commenters using this awful circumstance to post your snotty, sarcastic, smugly-selfish "God is mean, blah blah blah" comments: your points aren't well-taken and your position invalidates itself simply by your choice of context.

  • Yup - God has good reasons for sitting back and allowing children to be brutally raped and murdered everyday.

  • Or, there is no god and random things happen to people everyday. Even completely innocent children suffer terrifying deaths in which they suffer greatly because the world and universe are apathetic.

  • He has reason for the bad as well as the good. He did save the rest of the family but I do agree we do need to give pause on the bad as well. God has a reason for everything and only gives us what he knows we can handle. Its a sad thing to know that beautiful child had to go in such a horrific way but....There were so many good things that came from him even tho his life was short lived. He may have served his purpose in life and was welcomed home to the arms of the father.

  • Wonder where the natural phenomena came from hmmmm Oh thats right there had to be a God to create it...Damn doesnt that suck...u made yourself look bad buddy

  • The Lord will be the one you deal with you when you come to your time. An when you do...May he forgive you for what you have said. It is tragic yes but God SAVED the other child and He has reasons for everything he does...Including you and your non feeling attitude to that poor family.

  • Such a cute KID. its a tragic death. so much of life is gone just by these fuckin rains...

  • what a terrible tragedy.i feel awful for the family!
