Greg Selinger, Manitoba NDP Premier, No. 1 Story Of 2011: His Jets Involvement And Historic Election

A Review: Manitoba's no. 1 story in 2011 has to be Greg Selinger by far. He came into his own by stepping into the enormous shoes of Gary Doer, and made the NDP his, by giving them a historic 4th straight victory. He clobbered the opposition Conservatives and Liberals, with brutally effective negative attack ads, repeated hundreds of times. His stategy in those ads to demonize Conservative leader Hugh McFadyen, was brilliant, and it worked. Mcfadyen (ever the gentleman) was unable or unwilling to go "tit for tat" with Selinger, and was no match in this war. Further, without Selinger's deep involvement with Mark Chipman, to bring the Winnipeg Jets back, there would be no NHL Jets in 2011.
